Responsibilities at the CNSE:

• As part of the Student Affairs team at the CNSE, Dr. White is involved in student recruitment, retention and success. He represents CNSE at academic conferences, and professional meetings to promote CNSE and recruit highly qualified students. He is a member of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and works closely with the Vice President for Student Affairs and CNSE's Vice President for Academic Affairs.
• As Director of Academic Advisement, Dr. White oversees the progress of undergraduate students and provides academic and technical support and advice.
• As Chair of the CNSE Faculty Council, Dr. White presides at CNSE Faculty Council meetings and represents the CNSE Faculty when the Senior Vice President requests formal consultation on academic or curricular matters. 
• Dr. White represents CNSE and the University at Albany as a University Faculty Senator to the SUNY-wide Faculty Senate. He also serves as Senator and Executive Committee member to the University at Albany Senate.
• Dr. White serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Nanobioscience Constellation of the College and co-teaches Introduction to Clinical Nanomedicine with Dr. Brenner.

Awards:

• UAlbany President's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2007)

Current Research:

• Dr. White's research uses evolutionary theory to understand human behavior and social interactions. His latest work has focused on peer victimization in schools and how that behavior may impact outcomes in adulthood.
• Dr. White participates in the Costa Rica Research Group affiliated with the Department of Anthropology and the Institute for Mesoamerican Studies at the University at Albany. The group has been exploring the culture, language and biology of indigenous groups in southern Costa Rica for nearly thirty years.
