CNSE hosted a reception on Saturday, May 19, 2012 to celebrate the achievements of the seventeen CNSE students who received their diplomas during the University at Albany Commencement Ceremony earlier in the day. Eleven were awarded Ph.D.’s and 6 received Master’s degrees, with bodies of work that cover each of CNSE’s four constellations: Nanoscience, Nanoengineering, Nanobioscience and Nanoeconomics.
The May 2012 CNSE graduates have accepted research and engineering positions with a host of global high-tech leaders, including IBM, Intel, GlobalFoundries, Lam Research and Northrup Grumman, among others. In addition, one student has accepted a post-doc position with the Department of Vascular Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and several Master’s degree graduates have enrolled in CNSE’s Ph.D. program.
Students and their families gathered with faculty and staff in the NanoFab East Rotunda to congratulate the graduates and enjoy refreshments.
